Hi

I am no longer a regular LJ user and just dropped by out of curiosity and found this community I made back in 2004. It's hanging on by a thin thread, hey! I am still a devoted Cat Empire and Jackson Jackson fan but am totally out of the loop and living in Berlin.

If anyone would like to take this community over, revive it, maintain it, has any ideas, please let me know.

After puzzling over it for the last couple of months, I've worked out that, yes, the vocalist on Jackson Jackson's utterly bizarre and super-cool track "Eliza" is none other than our own Harry James Angus. I know, I know, I'm probably the last to know, but hey, have a vid in case I'm not:

Current Music: Jackson Jackson, Eliza

Bloody awesome. Entire place packed, audience in a fine fettle. Started off with The Car Song, then Days Like These, The Rhythm, and How to Explain. Highlights included spoken-word intro to Hello; jazz improvisation on The Crowd; and just then entire rendition of Two Shoes (I'm surprised we didn't crack the concrete what with all the jumping we did). Also, Harry into'd some piece that he said was Singaporean(?); any idea which one that might be?

I took pictures, but I can't upload them until I get them off my camera; so not 'til Monday, then.

Kudos to the Street Team, the audience, and, most of all, to the Cat Empire for making this an action-packed night to remember.

Remember that you can see where they'll hit next on their website.

» New Album - keeping the ball rolling..
Whilst we're finally getting a few more posts etc, here's a reminder, or some info for those that don't know: 'Citites' by The Cat Empire Project is being released on April 3rd, 2006.

We assume it's called TCE 'project' because they have a few special guests on the album, with names such as Julie O'Hara & Nina Ferro being thrown around already...

Musichead.com.au have a tracklisting already, so go check it out. The song 'Cities' on it can also be found on the Official Music from The Commonwealth Games Opening ceremony cd.

Carry on and stuff.

» because nothing has been posted in forever..
just watch the commonwealth games opening ceremony and stuff.
» Labjacd
Just wondering if any of you - particularly those of you in Melbourne - have ever had the pleasure of seeing Labjacd perform. If you haven't, they're pretty Empire-esque, albeit with most lyrics in Spanish and probably more of an orientation toward South America in terms of general sound.

If this is irrelevant, I'll gladly withdraw it.

Hey folks.

i was at the gig at the shed on friday night - had an awesome time. Best cat empire gig i've ever been to. was anyone else there?

Its pretty amazing how i got there anyway as the gig had sold out weeks before. in short it involves me meeting felix that morning and him my name at the door. For a longer version plus a review of the concert - see my own lj.

also, does anyone know how i could post this up on the dot infor forums... maybe i should email it to one of the moderators?

thanks, amy
